ARNI Inaugural Summer Cohort

ARNI has wrapped up its inaugural summer internship program. We were excited to host at Columbia six students, four of whom were women! Two talented high school students from, Mia Torres and Jisha Barua, completed the Engineering the Next Generation program under the mentorship of Ali Hirsa and learned about the research of multiple ARNI faculty. Three undergraduate students, Ariniola Spoyemi, Samiha Uddin, and Isaac Waters, worked directly with ARNI faculty at the Columbia’s Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain and Behavior Institute, under the mentorship of Liam Paninski, Ken Miller, and Tahereh Toosi. In addition, Austin Gibson, a senior at Tuskegee University, attended the Columbia SURE program under the mentorship of ARNI faculty Ashok Litwin Kumar. All students had the opportunity to conduct a research project and attend a rich curriculum of lectures and career development activities. Congratulations to our six students for completing their internship!

We are looking forward to our Summer 2025 cohort.
